Week 7 - December 6, 2020

This week at Seekers we continued our synagogue unit by exploring lifecycle events.

In Te'enim with Rabbi Nadia, we discussed B Mitzvah. When asked what a  Jewish obligation (mitzvah) was one student said, "You are encouraged by morals and religion to continue to study the torah." Regarding mitzvot another student wrote, "To learn your Torah portion. And also to stay one with God and everybody around you."

In Anavim with Stephanie, we talked about our given names, the stories behind them, and our family's naming traditions. When talking about life cycle one Anavim student said, "I believe in reincarnation." Another student said, "whatever the meaning is, smashing a glass at a wedding is also just fun."

In Tamarim with Batya, we learned about important and exciting milestones in the Jewish Life cycle, specifically B Mitzvah. One Tamarim student said, "I'm most excited to read from the Torah in 6 years from now on my Bat Mitzvah!!"
