Week 16 - February 25th, 2021

This week in Seekers we learned about Purim.

In Tamarim with Batya, we learned the story of Purim, and made graggers to shake during the megillah reading! One student said, "Something that I want to "erase" this year, together with Haman's name, is unkind behavior and cruelty." Another Tamarim student said, "Something that I want to see more of this year is love and kindness, and unity!"

In Anavim with Stephanie, we put on an improvised Purim play! One Anavim student said, "Vashti is her own independent woman! I'm in charge of my own life! I'm my own person! You can't tell me what to do!" Another student said, "Bwahahhahaha Haman hates women! They all must listen to their Husbands bwahahahhaha

In Te'enim with Rabbi Nadia, we studied the story of Purim and discussed the theme of masking and hiding in the story. Then we reflected on a time when we had to "hide" our true selves. One Te'enim student said, "In class sometimes I want to hide from the teacher." Another Te'enim student said, "Sometimes you do things that you don't want to do to get someone to like you."
